The president of the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant chain — formerly known as Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits — is moving to Miami Beach.
Alex Santoro, president of Popeyes, which operates 3,000 restaurants around the world, has plunked down $2.75 million for a five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath spread on the 5900 block of Alton Road. Ida Schwartz & Stephanie Doppelt with The Schwartz Team of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller.
A spokesperson for Sotheby’s said the sale marks the highest price ever paid for a home on Alton Road.
The 4,200 square-foot home was built in 1947 and previously sold in 2016 for $1.3 million. The home is adjacent to the La Gorce Country Club Jack Nicklaus golf course.
Popeyes quietly relocated its U.S. headquarters from Atlanta to Miami earlier this year. Its parent company Restaurant Brands International, which is based in Toronto, also owns the Burger King and Tim Hortons chains.
