The RAM Companies’ founder, Howard A. Goldenfarb, has been involved in managing and developing real estate for more than three decades. His development activities have included industrial and office properties in New England and South Florida, retail outlet centers in the United States, the Middle East, and Europe, renovation of historic buildings into prime office and retail space, and award-winning residential developments. In the early 1970s, Mr. Goldenfarb began acquiring properties in the Old Port Exchange district of Portland, Maine. His historic renovation of more than 20 buildings in this area is widely credited for the city’s revitalization and garnered national attention. During this period, he also developed The Maine Outlet, a purpose built factory outlet center, the first outlet center in Maine, and among the first 20 in the country.
In 1982, Mr. Goldenfarb founded RAM Management Co. to provide the leasing, property management, and asset management services to his development company, and in 1991, RAM began offering these services on a selective basis to third party owners and investors. In the period to follow, under his leadership, RAM has expanded its portfolio to include residential communities, retail centers, and office and industrial facilities throughout New England, South Florida, and overseas.
